The theory of stick-slip is developed, based on the concept of a static and dynamic coefficient of friction. The dynamic coefficient is assumed to be independent of displacement and to depend wholly on normal stress across the surface. It is also assumed to be velocity-independent. The theory predicts that the stress drop during stick-slip is independent of machine stiffness. The displacement d...

Metal Complexes of Quinoxaline Derivatives: Review (Part-I)

The purpose of the present review is to provide an overview about the synthesis, characterization techniques involved and various physico-chemical properties of quinoxaline derivative metal complexes reported upto 2006 by several researchers. The synthesis of variety of metal complexes such as mono, bi and trimetallic complexes, homo bimetallic complexes, polynuclear, mixed metal and mixed liga...

Bidentate Isatin Schiff Base Ligands Oxovanadium (IV) Complexes

The aim of the present study is to synthesize the oxovanadium complex of the V3+ ion with isatin sciff bases. Spectroscopic methods have been used to confirm these models of complexation and to understand the structures of the species formed in methanolic solution. We also have isolated a complex of Vanadium (III) with isatin schiff bases in the solid phase.

Mathematics Course 111: Algebra I Part IV: Vector Spaces

A vector space over some field K is an algebraic structure consisting of a set V on which are defined two algebraic operations: a binary operation referred to as addition, and an operation of multiplication by scalars in which elements of the vector space are multiplied by elements of the given field K. These two operations are required to satisfy certain axioms that correspond to many of the p...
